Hiro & Maro to the Rescue!

We did it... we picked up the puppy mill reject this afternoon. The puppy mill was near a lot of trailers and old apartments. When we got there, there were about 10 cages full of small dogs including shih tzus, chihuahua, pugs, and one boston terrier. He stood out... he was so energetic and happy...and CUTE! The breeder named him Harley...which totally didn't fit him considering his state and size. He was tiny! The picture made him look so much bigger. I was expecting him to be between Hiro & Maro's size. He was skinny, too. He was caged in with a fat (probably pregnant) chihuahua. He hadn't had heartworm test nor rabies. Well, here are some pics...

That's Maro's head. She's saying Hi to the camera.
We're keeping him in the crate until the other puppies get used to him. He is considerably smaller than both dogs.. even smaller than Maro. Hiro is about a head bigger than him when they both stand tall.

We've decided to call him Ando...after Heroes. He was born 11/16/08, but I think it's wrong. He seems to be much younger. Ando is very light and skinny. I can carry him in one arm. His left eye (and left side of his face) appears abnormal..like he's had a stroke, but he seems to see fine out of that eye. I think it's a sympton of Horner's syndrome, but I'm no vet. Both of his ears don't stand up...just the right side. His right leg is hurt, but doesn't appear to cause him pain. He can walk and run on it, but doesn't put his full weight on it, especially when he stands. He walks kinda weird..like a panther prowling or something, but that's bc of his leg. When he breathes, it sounds like he's got a respiratory problem. Overall, he's still a good looking dog. He's got beautiful coloring.

On Top of Spaghetti....

*Updated 11/5/09* I added more pictures and corrected some stuff. I made meatball spaghetti for the puppies last night because Hiro was getting tired of the regular food. It's a recipe made specifically for dogs so you don't have to worry about making them sick. The puppies love it because it's like eating people food. It's easy to make and it helps get rid of leftover meat and vegetables that's sitting in the fridge. What do you think of it, Ando? Look at that tongue! You spilled some, Hiro. Maro even looks grumpy when she eats. The Verdict: What do you think? They licked the bowl clean! Meatball Spaghetti Ingredients 9 oz - 1 lb ground meat (I used pork) 1 egg 1 small onion 1 zucchini or carrot 1/2 bunch oregano or few dashes of dry oregano vegetable oil for frying 5 oz cooked spaghetti, cut into small pieces (about inch in length) 1 small can (6 oz) tomato sauce Preparation Use the food processor to chop the onion, zucchini/carrot, and meat separately. Mix the on...
